Stashalong's KAL within a KAL

Stashalong's KAL within a KAL
My Project for June

The Rules:
1. Choose one WIP from your current pile OR if you are feeling particularly industrious it could be a new Screaming Stash Project that you believe you can finish in a month.

My project for June will be to finish the Irish Cables Bag. I am 50% done so I am sure I will be able to finish it. I have just been lazy to get it finished. I thought I was running out of yarn but I found more in my stash.

2. Post a before pic on June 1.

Bottle Cap Necklace

DD has been making bottle cap necklaces. She found the idea in a craft book & had to scrounge for bottle caps from our friends.

Here is how they look an a chain

My Summer Challenge

Since I cannot find any Summer Knitting Challenges out there in blogland, like The Amazing Lace-Summer 2006, I have decided I should challenge myself to finish the OddBall Sampler Afghan. This project has been languishing on needles in my closet for maybe 2 years. Time to finish it!!
Here's the plan!
May 2-4 Weekend to Labour Day Weekend
Finish the OddBall Sampler Afghan

I joined

for encouragement
I need encouragement!!

42 squares to knit - small, portable projects - perfect for summertime.

I actually have finished 6 squares
1: Flower Beds

2: Ohio Star

8: Celtic Braid

9: Twining Trees

24: Hugs & Kisses

31: Victorian Patchwork

Only 36 to go!!

I really don't have any worries about finishing the squares - it's the sewing up that may get me.

I am participating in Stashalong, Knit from your Stash 2007 & 2007 Summer Stash Out, so it's stashdiving for me.

Actually this will be quite easy as this project was always a stash project. Time to use up all those odds balls that have been hanging around for a while.

My Reward for finishing the project by Labour Weekend
2 (Two) guilt-free stash enhancement days - No expiry date!!

Ella Hat

This is the finished Ella Hat from the book 'Hip Knit Hats: 40 Fabulous Designs' by Cathy Carron.

The yarn for this hat is Patons Shetland Chunky Dark Navy.

I really love the way the hat turned out, especially since this was my first attempt at Entrelac. Oh & of course there had to be 2 printing errors in the pattern since this was my first attempt. Did manage to figure it out.
This hat is for ME!!

Knitting Meme

I lifted this from Too Hot Too Knit: Never
I was suprised with how much of these I have done. I added a few others at the bottom.

with italics the ones you plan to do sometime, and leave the rest.

Refashioning Week

Last week was a refashioning week. Both DD's have nightshirts that they do not wear. They love the material but do not like nightshirts, so I did some refashioning. I changed them into PJ Pants.

This is what the nightshirts looked like to start with

After I had finished, this is the results.
Both DD's are thrilled with their new PJ Pants.

With the nightshirt below, there was definitely not enough material to make PJ Pants so I made a pillowcase for DD#2 as this nightshirt was hers. She is thrilled.
