The Amazing Lace: Challenge #1 - Meet the Team

Hi! My name is Clapotis & I am the team-mate of CanadianKiwi for the Amazing Lace. I was so happy when she chose me as her team-mate but as I can already tell this is going to be a rocky relationship.
This is the summer of the Amazing Lace.
Is it not??
& I AM suppose to be Number 1.
Correct??
OK! I am not exactly lace but I DO have holes!!

This girl is usually a one-project person so I was going to be the centre of attention. YAY!!
NOT SO - she has joined a few KAL's & to make matters worse has also CAST ON!!

She speaks of the Irish Hiking Scarf as simple & elegant & Soleil as going to look absolutely wonderful on DD#1 (green is her colour) WELL WHAT ABOUT ME????

It is all the fault of that Stashalong that she has fallen of the wagon (see: Falling off the Wagon & Finished Projects & MORE Cast On's)
(I do feel special in the fact that she had to BUY yarn for me.)

Will somebody please stop her!!
I need to be the centre of attention & now she is talking about Clapotis #2 Arrrrrgh!!!

I need more RESPECT!!

Instructions for the Aluminium Pop Tab Belt

I have been asked by quite a few people for instructions for this belt.
So here goes:

I used:
99 Aluminium Pop Tabs
Needloft Craft Cord Nylon blend - 1 skein of black & 1 of gold. It comes in skeins of 10 yards/9.2 m. I got it at Lewiscraft for $1.99 CDN per skein.
Barrel Pony Beads from Wal-Mart.

The belt is double-sided. The tabs are placed back to back with one overlapping the other so you weave the cord through both tabs. I cut the cord in 2.5 metre lengths. I had 2 gold and 2 black cords this length. I wove the gold cord first and then the black on the top and then did the same on the bottom . Remember to keep all the tabs the same way up. When the belt is finished you tie a knot with both cords. Then I threaded 3 beads on the top and bottom cords in the combination of gold/black/gold. I then braided the cord approx 4-5 inches tied a knot in both combination of cords black/gold. I then threaded 3 more beads on each cord in the combination of gold/black/gold (total of 6 beads at the end of the belt . Tied a knot in the end & voila you have finished. I did burn the ends of the cord to melt it so that the beads do not fall off. (I am not sure whether this is necessary)

I hope this makes sense!

Finished Projects

Finished the Shawl / Scarf combo. DD#1 absolutely loves it. It was made from Patons Silverlash 'Crystallite Cream' Nice colour that goes with everything.

I also finished the"Sweet Sherbert' Baby Blanket. I really liked knitting this one, not like the last one. This one was really easy and a joy to knit. Hopefully the recipient will like it.
