Never Tell Our Business to Strangers -- An Audiobook Review

Never Tell Our Business to Strangers:  A Memoir by Jennifer Mascia.

Another audiobook I did not finish.  Talk about a dysfunctional family &  I am sure with all the crying she did when she was younger she doesn't have any tears left!!

If you like crying and dysfunctional you will enjoy this book, I didn't.

Definitely NOT recommended!

Let Them Play -- A Book Review

Let Them Play  An Early (Un)Curriculum  by Jeff A Johnson & Denita Dinger.

This book uses the old fashioned words "Go Play" when children are in a Early Learning Environment (ELE).  They explain that sometimes the play may look chaotic and that it may not look like the children are learning anything but with the push for academics in the ELE children are becoming stressed.  They are losing their childhood & once it has gone it can never be reclaimed.

Highly Recommended!

Fairy Tale Interrupted -- An Audiobook Review

Fairy Tale Interrupted:  A Memoir of Life, Love and Loss by RoseMarie Terenzio.

I thoroughly enjoyed this audiobook & it was read by the author.  RoseMarie was John F. Kennedy Jr's personal assistant & publicist during the last five years of his life.  She was also one of his closest confidantes.  JFK Jr's life was that of American Royalty.  The paparazzi followed him everywhere.  This audiobook gives you a glimpse into that life before it was cut short by the tragic plane crash in 1999.

Highly Recommended!

It left me with 2 questions that can never be answered.
1 - Would John & Carolyn's marriage have lasted, considering the intrusion from the paparazzi?
2 - What would life be like today if JFK Jr was still alive?

King Peggie -- An Audiobook Review

King Peggy:  An American Secretary, Her Royal Destiny, and the Inspiring Story of How She Changed an African Village by Peggielene Bartels & Eleanor Herman.

This audiobook is 11 CD's long.  I only got to disc 3 before stopping.  The reviews I have read have been very positive but for me this audiobook is VERY slow moving and long winded.  At CD 3 where I stopped, Peggie had only just arrived in Africa.

Not Recommended!

Miracle In The Andes -- Audio Book Review

Miracle In The Andes 72 Days on the Mountain and My Long Trek Home by Nando Parrado with Vince Rause.

A first person account of a plane crash somewhere deep in the Andes and its aftermath.  Sixteen would survive and 29 would lose their lives including Nando's mother & sister.

This account is extremely graphic in the details of their ordeal surviving nearly 12,000 feet above sea level, with no supplies and no means of summoning help.

Highly Recommended!
