Lincoln County Fair

DD#1 wanted Nana to teach her to sew with her Brother Sewing machine. She was adventurous as she wanted to make a patchwork quilt for her bed. Mostly straight sewing so not too bad. She did a wonderful job & was quite pleased with herself.

The local county fair is at the beginning of September so I said to DD, how about exhibiting the quilt in the Junior Class of the Lincoln County Fair. She was enthusiastic.

After looking over the Fair booklet she decided to exhibit 9 entries in 3 catergories, Sewing & Needlecrafts, Hobbies & Crafts, & Photography.

We went to the fair on the Sunday to see her exhibits amongst the other entries & she was absolutely thrilled.

She came away $30 richer with 4 - First Place, 1 - Second Place, 3 - Third Place & 1 - Special Kid ribbons. She also got a Special Rosette for "Most points in the Sewing & Needlecrafts" catergory.

Money has been spent. LOL!!
Went to Chapters and spent it on books!!

Congratulations to your dd for the excellent showing at the fair! I encourage young people to participate in these things because otherwise they'll go away! The quilt is wonderful and it will be a treasure she can pass on to her family.

You're obviously doing a great job as a mom too!
