It all started with needing to do some sewing. DH had called me from work to ask it I would like some of those 12 x 12 foam jigsaw mats. The boss was getting rid of them and hubby thought we could use them for the display booth we have at an annual convention we attend. Of course I said yes, we can use them. He was able to get 12 squares.

Now that I had 12 - 12" x 12" jigsaw foam mats to use, how was I going to transport them? They are pretty cumbersome. My thought was to make a bag for them. First thing was a trip downstairs to see what fabric I had.
Here is what I found.
It is a knit fabric, not great but it would do the trick.
This is the bag I got the idea of how to make the pattern.
I sewed all weekend as I had a few interruptions & here is the finished bag.
I am pleased with the results although it did not turn out quite like I had envisioned.
Where was my mother when I needed her?
(At home in the Southern Hemisphere!)
I have enough material left over to make a bag for the display basket of fruits & vegetables. Have not even started that yet.
